Our Story
The first time we read to our daughter at bedtime, something magical happened that we weren’t expecting.
She was in her pajamas, restless, not wanting to sleep. We picked up a book because we were trying something new, something we’d heard about but never really tried ourselves.
As we read, her whole body changed. She stopped fidgeting. Her eyes got wide. She leaned in closer. And when we finished, she looked up at us with this expression of pure wonder and said, ‘Where did they go? Can we visit them?’
In that moment, we realized: stories don’t just entertain children. They transport them. They open up entire worlds that exist nowhere else. They turn ordinary evenings into adventures.
That’s what Pajama Stories means — those quiet, intimate moments when a child is comfortable, relaxed, their imagination wide open, and a story can take them absolutely anywhere. It’s about creating a space where Ugandan children can dream bigger, imagine further, and discover that the whole world lives inside books.
We started this because we wanted that magic for our own kids. Now we want it for every child in Kampala, and eventually, across Africa.
Our Mission
To spark a love for reading among children by making books easy to find, easy to afford, and easy to enjoy.
What We Do
We carefully source gently used children’s books from across the region and make them available through our online store and WhatsApp Group. Our titles range from board books for toddlers to chapter books for young readers, all handpicked for their quality and educational value.
We deliver across Kampala, bringing stories straight to your doorstep because we know that busy parents deserve convenience as much as kids deserve great books.
Why It Matters
In a world where screens compete for every child’s attention, reading builds imagination, empathy, and confidence. Yet for many families, children’s books remain too expensive or hard to find. Little Readers Ug exists to change that, one affordable story at a time.
Our Promise
We’re not just selling books. We’re building a reading culture — nurturing curiosity, creativity, and connection in every Ugandan home.
Because when a child reads, a future opens.
